What is FreeportCAN EcoHomes?
FreeportCAN EcoHomes is a monthly email with an action you can take at home to reduce your climate impact.
Once a month, we’ll offer an accessible, actionable tip to help you lighten your carbon footprint in your day to day life — with a focus on home and property.
Why is my participation so important?
Given that households are responsible for 72% of global greenhouse gas emissions, Freeport and the world can’t begin to significantly reduce carbon emissions and slow climate change without individual residents doing their part to reduce emissions from our homes.
Why should I sign up?
You care about the environment and this is an easy way for you to help reverse global warming.
Most actions are low- or no-cost. Many of them will save you money. And you decide which ones you want to implement.
You want to be part of a town-wide, community-wide effort. The Freeport Sustainability Advisory Board recommends that the Town reduce emissions 65% from the 2019 baseline by 2030, and get to net zero by 2050. We can’t reach these goals without your help.
